<span style="color: #222222;">Minister for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Radha Mohan Singh on Monday said that the government has allocated more than 30 per cent funds under various schemes and activities to bring women in the agriculture mainstream. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Addressing the Mahila Kisan Diwas programme in New Delhi today, Mr Singh said, about 18 per cent of the agricultural households in India are led by women. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said, in addition to agriculture, women have been making exceptional contribution in horticulture, fisheries, animal husbandry, beekeeping and other. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Minister informed that research by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research shows that the participation of women is 75 per cent in the production of major crops. He said, National Gender Resource Centre in Agriculture, which has been set up in the Department of Agriculture has developed a women sensitization module to bring about change in the mindset and behaviour of male program operators. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Singh said, in 2017-18, Ministry's institutions have trained over 5600 people through 222 programmes. and more than 98 lakh women farmers have been trained so far under the ATMA scheme. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said, special importance is being given to the role of women in achieving the goal of doubling farmers' income by 2022. </span><br />
