In Assam, more than 280 villages in 7 districts are reeling under flood. Ferry services in Guwahati and Majuli have been suspended following the rise of water level of the Brahamaputra. Around 63 thousand people affected in Dhemaji and Tinsukia district in the recent wave of flood. District administration deployed boats to rescue affected villagers and State Disaster Response Teams have been put in services in Dhemaji. Relief materials are also being distributed among the affected people. Tinsukia district administration has set up 8 relief camps at Tinsukia and Doomdoma. In Jorhat district, around 150 families moved to safer places as flood water inundated their houses. Road communication has been disrupted in most of the flood affected areas. Raging water swept away wooden bridges in a few places.
