Over 28 crore bank accounts have been opened under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and nearly 64 thousand crore rupees deposited across the country. <br/><br/>The Scheme was launched in August, 2014 with the objective of covering all households with at least one bank account. Finance Ministry said, the average deposit per account has more than doubled from one thousand 64 rupees in March 2015 to two thousand 235 rupees in March 2017. <br/><br/>The Ministry also said, over 22 crore RuPay cards have been issued under the scheme.<br/><br/>Under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, loans extended during 2016-17 have crossed the target of one lakh 80 thousand crore rupees. <br/><br/>The number of borrowers were about 4 crore, of which over 70 per cent were women. About 18 per cent of the borrowers were from the Scheduled Caste, 4.5 per cent from the Scheduled Tribe, while Other Backward Classes accounted for almost 34 per cent.<br/><br/>Under Atal Pension Yojana, a total of 48.54 lakh subscribers have been enrolled with a total pension wealth of one thousand 756 crore rupees, as on 31st March this year.<br/><br/>Under Stand Up India Scheme, 5807 crore rupees have been sanctioned in 28 thousand 444 accounts as on April this year. The Scheme facilitates bank loans between 10 lakh and one crore rupees.
