In Haryana, the co-operative sugar mills have produced more than 27.06 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 290.60 lakh quintals of sugarcane in the current crushing season.Giving this information a government spokesman said that the last year in 2011-12 309.43 lakh quintals of sugarcane were crushed. He said that during this period the Gohana, Shahbad, Meham and Rohtak sugar mills also supplied 5.27 crore units of power to the Power Corporations of the state, produced from waste of sugarcane by these mills.
