<span style="color: #222222;">The government has said that defence imports have reduced from 46 per cent to 36.7 per cent since 2018-19. In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhat said that in order to promote self reliance, the government has notified four Positive Indigenisation Lists comprising 411 major weapons platforms and systems. He informed that over  26 thousand defence items have been uploaded on SRIJAN Portal and offered to the Industry for indigenisation.  Mr Bhatt added that indigenisation is a dynamic process and so far more than seven thousand items have already been indigenised, which cater to the domestic and global markets. </span><br />
