Over 25% votes cast in WB in early hours of polling

In West Bengal over 25 per cent votes were cast in the first three hours of voting, where peaceful voting is on in six parliamentary seats covering four districts .

The seats are Raiganj, Balurghat, Malda North and South, Murshidabad and Jangipur. The state Chief Electoral officer Sunil Gupta told AIR that no major untoward incident has so far been reported.

Around 26 electronic voting machines were replaced at different booths following technical snag.

Our correspondent reports that polling is being monitored at 190 high sensitive booths at four districts through web casting.
Seven live monitoring vehicles fitted with cameras are also in placed at vulnerable areas to oversee poll process.
