In Uttar Pradesh, over 24 percent polling has taken place during the first four hours in all 11constituencies of Nagina, Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Amroha, Badaun, Aonla, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and Kheri.
Maximum 28.25 percent voters have exercised their franchise in Nagina constituency followed by 26.20 percent in Moradabad seat.
AIR Correspondent reports that minimum 21.83 percent voting has taken place in Shahjahanpur constituency.
Union Minister and congress nominee Jitin Prasad, former Minister Saleem Iqbal Shervani, MP Praveen Singh Aron, senior congress leader Noor Bano, BJP leader Santosh Gangwar, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, SP MP Dharmendra Yadav and State Minister Bhagwat Saran Gangwar are among the voters who cast their votes early.
After visiting several polling stations in Moradabad and Rampur constituencies AIR correspondent reports that voters had started reaching at polling station in early hours and at several polling booths long queues were seen at the starting of the polling. Of the 19 thousand polling stations, more than 3200 stations have been identified as critical and arrangements have been made for webcasting of voting at about 500 polling stations.
Massive security arrangements have been made for peaceful and impartial voting. Interstate border with Uttarakhand and inter districts borders have been sealed and barriers have been set up at several places for checking of vehicles and miscreants.
A total of 150 candidates including 17 women are in the fray. BJP, BSP, SP and Aam Aadmi Party AAP have fielded their candidates in all 11 constituencies and Congress has left three seats of Nagina, Etah and Amroha to its allies Mahan Dal and Rashtriya Lok Dal. About one crore 85 lakhs electorates will decide their electoral fate in today`s voting.
