Over 2200 km roads to be constructed along Indo-Nepal border: Chidambaram

Union Home Minister P.Chidambaram today announced that two thousand two hundred Kilo Meter roads along Indo-Nepal border will be constructed. Under this 564 KM roads along Nepal border areas in Bihar will be constructed. <br/><br/>After laying foundation stone of an integrated check post today at Raxaul in Bihar Mr. Chidambaram said that communication system near border areas will also be strengthen. He said after construction of the ultra modern check post trade and commerce between India and Nepal will be furthered stepped up The second check post in Bihar will be set up at Jogbani. <br/><br/>Other eleven check post will be constructed at different places in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Megahalya and Tripura. <br/><br/>AIR Patna Correspondent reports that this check post will also be helpful to keep strict vigil on smugglers and check movement of Maoists, Raxaul check post is the second integrated cheapest after Atari which is being constructed along Indo-Pakistan border in Punjab. <br/><br/>This Check post will be equipped with high tech security gadgets and other instruments to facilitate trade and immigration. <br/><br/>There would be dedicated passengers and cargo terminal at the the check post besides separate customs and immigration facility. <br/><br/>There would also be modern financial services like banks and foreign exchange cell at the check post.
