More than 21.61 Lakh voters will exercise their right of franchise in Meghalaya Assembly Elections 2023 on 27th February. Like previous elections this time it is also expected that more participation of Female voters will take place. In 2018 Assembly Elections, the turnout of Female voters was 87.23 percent outnumbering the Male electorate voting percentage of 83.91 percent. In terms of figures the Female outnumber the male electorates.<br />'' <br />'' There are 10.92 Lakh Female voters in the state and the number of male voters stands 10.68 Lakh. The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Meghalaya FR Kharkongor said special arrangements are being done at polling stations to bring more Female voters. He said 120 all women managed pink polling booths will be set up. He said Model polling stations will be made which will have crèche facility so that young mothers can exercise their right of franchise.
