Over 2000 nominations filled for assembly elections

Filing of nominations for Assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana and Arunachal will close today. Over 2,000 candidates filed their papers in three states yesterday. The last date for withdrawal is 29th of this month. The polling will be held on the 13th of next month in all three states.<br/><br/> In Maharashtra, about 1500 candidates have filed their nominations yesterday. Prominent candidates to file their papers include Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, former Chief Minister Shivaji Rao Patil Nilangekar and Education Minister Rajesh Tope. <br/><br/> In Haryana, over 500 candidates have filed their papers so far. Prominent among them are Kuldeep Vishnoi, State Revenue Minister Savitri Jindal and Ashok Arora.<br/><br/>In Arunachal Pradesh, 126 candidates have filed nominations till yesterday. Among those who filed nominations; for Congress yesterday were former Chief Minister Gegong Apang and Health Minister C.C. Singpho. Six Independent candidates and eleven women also submitted their nomination papers. No candidate has filed nomination in four constituencies till now. Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress has released its final list yesterday. The BJP will release its final list today.
