Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday said, there are over 2.22 lakh vacancies in the Railways in different categories across the country. <br/><br/>In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Mr Goyal said, filling up of vacancies is a continuous process and is done through various modes of intake.<br/> <br/>He said, the recruitment process in Railways is being done regularly through authorised recruiting agencies namely Railway Recruitment Board and Railway Recruitment Cells. <br/><br/>He, however, said, there is no need for launching any special recruitment drive for filling up of vacancies including for SC and ST categories. <br/><br/>The Minister assured the House that the shortfall and backlog vacancies of SC, STs and OBCs will be taken care of in the subsequent recruitment drive.
