Over 172 gigawatt capacity from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources installed in the country: Govt

<span style="color: #222222;">More than 172 gigawatt capacity from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources has been installed in the country. This includes more than 119 gigawatts of renewable energy, 46.85 gigawatts of large hydro, and 6.78 gigawatts of nuclear power capacity. This was stated by the New and Renewable Energy Minister RK Singh in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.<br />''<br />'' He said, his Ministry is working towards achieving 500 gigawatts of installed electricity capacity from non-fossil sources by 2030. In replying to another query, Mr. Singh informed that wind power projects of 41.8-gigawatt capacity have been commissioned and 11.7-gigawatt capacity projects are at various stages of implementation in the country.</span><br />
