Over 1500 shops and stalls have been earmarked for allotment to SCs and STs at railway stations across the country. Out of these, 532 stalls have already been awarded. <br/><br/>The Catering Policy 2010 of Railways provides for 25 percent reservation in allotment of minor static catering units at A, B and C categories of stations and 49.5 percent reservation at D, E & F categories to protect interests of socially backward and economically weaker sections of people.<br/><br/>This information was given by Minister of State for Railways, Manoj Sinha in a written reply in Lok Sabha today. He said the allotment is done by Zonal Railways by calling applications to press notification.
