In Uttar Pradesh at least 15 persons including jail guards were injured in a clash in Meerut central jail campus this morning. The clash began after some prisoners started beating the jail officials. AIR correspondent reports that jail inmates were agitated over intensive searches conducted by the jail authorities during last two days in barracks and seized prohibited items from them. They have alleged that authorities had harassed them during the searches. Senior police and civil authorities have reached the spot and extra police force has been deployed in and around the Choudhary Charan Singh Jail. Injured are admitted at Medical College hospital meerut.
