<span style="color: #222222;">A total of 12 thousand 486 children have been placed in Adoption centres across the country during the last three years till 24th of this month. They included 7 thousand 594 girls. <br />'' <br />'' Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Zubin Irani said, the number of female children placed in Adoptions centres under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, have been more as compared to the male children. <br />'' <br />'' The Minister said, a total of 6,971 orphaned/abandoned/surrendered children are living in 488 Specialized Adoption Agencies run by both government and non-government agencies. <br />'' <br />''<br />''She said a total of 1706 children are residing in the Child Care Institutions. She gave this information in a written reply to the Lok Sabha on Friday.</span><br />
