Government today informed that over 12 lakh houses have been sanctioned for urban poor under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). <br/><br/>In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Rao Inderjit Singh said, central assistance of 19,682 crore rupees have been approved, out of which over six thousand crore rupees has been already released. Mr Singh said that construction of over two lakh 21 thousand houses has started of which 48,236 have been built.
