In Odisha, at least 11 persons have been killed and many others injured in different parts of the state due to lightning today. According to reports, five persons were killed in Khordha district, while four persons died in Balasore and one each in Cuttack and Nayagarh district. Meanwhile, rain and thundershowers occured at many places over coastal Odisha bringing respite to the people from the scorching heat. The Bhubaneswar Met Office has predicted thundersquall with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching from 60 to 70 kmph at one or two places over Odisha during the next 24 hours.
