The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has sanctioned more than 10 crore rupees to Chhattisgarh for development and maintenance of playfields during the last month. The Central assistance under Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA) is also meant for payment of honorarium to Kridashrees in 982 village panchayats and 14 block panchayats in the State for the 2nd year. With this, a total grant of over 15 crore rupees have so far been sanctioned to the state .Our correspondent reports, PYKKA aims at development and maintenance of playfields in village and block panchayats across the country and organizing annual sports competitions from block to national levels. The scheme introduced in 2008-09, is implemented through the State governments and Union territories.
