In Punjab, more than 102 lakh 19 thousand tonnes of wheat was procured in the state till last evening. It is 6 lakh tonnes more than last year’s procurement. Five Punjab government agencies and Food Corporation of India have purchased major chunk of more than 102 lakh 13 thousand tonnes. Maximum purchase has been done in Sangrur district followed by Patiala. State Government has set up 1750 procurement centers in the state.
