In Punjab, government agencies and private millers procured more than 100 lakh 17 thousand tonnes of wheat till last evening. Out of total procurement of wheat in all the 1650 procurement centers of Punjab, Government agencies procured 99 lakh 73 thousand tonnes of wheat whereas private traders procured 43750 tonnes of wheat. MARKFED is leading in procurement operations with 23 lakh 23 thousand tonnes of wheat. The Central Government agency FCI had been able to procure 16 lakh 21 thousand tonnes. District Ferozepur with 11 lakh 38 thousand tonnes of wheat procurement is leading in procurement operations. <br/>
