More than 100 people are believed to have lost their lives in a crash involving an Air Algerie aircraft today.

Algeria national airliner, Air Algerie says that it has lost contact with one of its passenger planes flying from Burkina Faso.

The passenger airline was bound for Algiers.

The airlines sources said contact was lost about 50 minutes after take-off from Ouagadougou airport.
