Over 1 crore doses of Corona vaccine administered in West Bengal

Amidst shooting covid cases, West Bengal accomplished vaccinating more than 1 crore people across the state. The Director of State Health department Dr. Ajay Chakraborty said that over 1 lakh 89 thousand people have been administered the vaccine doses on Tuesday. Around 86 thousand got the first dose while over 96 thousand got the second dose.<br />'' <br />''Meanwhile, private covid vaccination centres or CVCs have been asked to return their remaining vaccine stock after 30th April before the third phase of vaccination and directed to procure vaccine doses directly from the manufacturers. No onsite registration of beneficiaries will be allowed for private CVCs except for doses that are left out in the last open vials.<br />'' <br />''Meanwhile, the number of active covid cases crossed 1 lakh as the state recorded more than 16 thousand new cases with 73 more casualties in the past 24 hours. Total covid cases rose to 7 lakh 76 thousand 345 while the number of deceased from the infection stood at 11 thousand and 82.<br />'' <br />''More than one crore samples have been tested in the state so far as 7 new laboratories have been added to the existing list. Over 12 thousand beds are earmarked for treating covid patients across 140 hospitals. 28 thousand persons are in home quarantine.<br />
