Over 1.5 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in Odisha

Odisha has achieved another milestone in COVID-19 vaccination drive by administering over 1.5 crore doses of vaccines to beneficiaries. Yesterday alone, more than two lakh 36 thousand beneficiaries were vaccinated in over eleven hundred session sites across the state. AIR correspondent reports that Odisha has crossed the 1.5 crore mark both in terms of COVID-19 sample tests and vaccination- both being two significant tools against the virus. In terms of tests, the state has been conducting about 70,000 tests per day, resulting in an average positivity of about three per cent.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">In terms of vaccination, out of over 1.5 crore doses administered so far, while above 45 lakh beneficiaries in the age group of 18 to 44 years have received their vaccine jabs, the 45 years plus age-group accounts for about ninety two lakh doses. Meanwhile, the state's COVID-19 active caseload continues to hover around 20,000, with a fresh addition of about 2,000 positive cases daily.</span><br />
