Hosts England will resume their first innings at their overnight score of 75 for no loss against India, on the second day of the fourth and final cricket Test at the Oval in London on Friday. Skipper Andrew Strauss on 38 and Alistair Cook on 34 were at the crease when the stumps were drawn yesterday. After winning the toss and opting to bat, England looked totally in control, playing cautiously in the initial stages of the day. But their progress was halted as rain interrupted play at lunch and the match could not proceed any further. Only 26 overs were bowled on the opening day on Thursday.
