Amidst outrage over the gangrape of two Dalit sisters in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, BSP Chief Mayawati today demanded a CBI probe into the rape and killing of two sisters in Badaun. Talking to media persons in Lucknow today, she made a scathing attack on Akhilesh Yadav led state government.
She said that the Samajwadi Party government is a failure on all fronts. She alleged that there is total anarchy and law and order in the state have collapsed. She demanded immediate Presidential rule in the state to end the alleged anarchy.
Mayawati also criticised the Modi government at the Centre for its alleged double speak about making the Parliament free of criminals. She said that 30 percent of the Ministers have criminal cases against them.
BJP has condemned the rape incident in Badaun. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, it seems there is no law and order in the state. He said, ruling Samajwadi Party should introspect what will happen if people lose patience.
Congress also urged the Uttar Pradesh government to investigate Badaun rape incident and take action against the culprits. Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, party spokesperson Shashi Tharoor opposed the demand for CBI inquiry into the case and imposing President rule in the state. He said, UP government should be allowed to investigate the matter.
