Outgoing Iraqi PM Nuri reaches Cairo for one-day official visit

As part of his regional tour including Syria, Jordan and Iran, outgoing Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki reached Cairo for one-day official visit. At his arrival, Al Maliki held a closed meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Ahmad Nazif and a number of officials. During his meeting with Egyptian President Husni Mubarak, Prime Minister Maliki will discuss issues of common interest and efforts deployed to form a government in addition to enhancing bilateral ties and boosting Egyptian investment in Iraq.Al Maliki will also meet Arab League Secretary General Amro Moussa. Prior to his visit to Egypt, Al-Maliki met with leaders in Syria, Jordan and Iran. He is next scheduled to visit Turkey. The regional tour comes at the time when Iraqi politicians are trying to win regional support and position themselves to form a new government, following seven months of deadlock since March's elections.
