As Bihar Police nabbed two Maoist leaders linked to abduction of policemen in Lakhisarai district, Maoists say the three other hostages with them are safe. But they called for talks saying the time is running out.Their call comes a day after killing of an abducted policeman. Self-proclaimed Maoist spokesman Avinash today rang up media offices and said the three policemen abducted by the rebels are safe and demanded the Bihar government immediately halt operations and call for talks. Avinash said the rebels will provide an audio CD containing the voices of the three policemen kidnapped on Sunday from Lakhisarai district. Asked about his earlier statement that sub-inspector Abhay Yadav had been killed, he said,he made the statement to create fear in the minds of those handling the hostage situation. AIR Patna Correspondent reports that security forces have further intensified search and rescue operations to find out security men held hostage by the Maoists. A massive operation is also underway in Banka, Jamui and Munger districts of the state. BSF and Air Force helicopters have been pressed into search operation. Jawans of Cobra battalion, CRPF, BSF and Special Task Force have entered in forest areas to find out securitymen. All outlets of the forest have been sealed and a massive manhunt is on to nab the Maoists. The two maoists were arrested from the Gurmaha forest area under Barhat Police station in Jamui district. Director general of police Neelmani said that the Maoists have been identified as Area commanders Pintoo da and Bahadur yadav. The arrested naxals have confessed their involvement in the encounter at Kajra in Lakhisarai district on 29th of August. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has convened an-all Party meeting this afternoon in Patna to build a consensus on tackling the naxal menace in the state.
