BJP has clarified that the One Rank, One Pension (OROP) issue related to ex-servicemen will not be discussed during the three day RSS- BJP coordination meeting which began in New Delhi today. Talking to reporters, party General Secretary Ram Madhav said the OROP is a policy matter and government will take a decision on it. He maintained that specific policy issues are not discussed in such meeting.<br/><br/>Mr. Madhav's remarks came amid reports that during the first day meet today, RSS has favoured early implementation of OROP and also opined that government should form a commission to solve the contentious issue.<br/><br/>The meeting has been called to deliberate on various national issues. Today, economic issues were on the agenda of the coordination meeting while social, cultural and educational issues would be coming up for discussion over the next two days. Governance issues like the land bill and the Patel's reservation agitation in Gujarat and recent census figures are also reported to be on the agenda. <br/><br/>Top Union Ministers including Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Manohar Parrikar, Nitin Gadkari, Venkaiah Naidu and BJP chief Amit Shah participated in the meeting. RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat presided over the meeting which<br/>was attended by representatives of 15 Sangh associates. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the event on Friday.
