The standoff over One Rank One Pension continues as defence veterans are returning their medals today to protest against government's notification on implementation of OROP. The agitating veterans have said they are unhappy with the provisions inserted by government and want the scheme to be implemented as per definition.<br/><br/>Talking to media, Captain V.K. Gandhi, the general secretary of Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement said they reject the notification by the government and will continue with agitation and intensify it further. He said they want to explain to citizens of the country that OROP has not been given to them. Captain Gandhi said the district magistrate has been requested to collect the medals. He also requested the district magistrate to send these medals either to Prime Minister Narendra Modi or to President Pranab Mukherjee.<br/><br/>The government had on Saturday issued notification for the scheme ahead of Diwali.<br/><br/>Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar yesterday said the government has fulfilled the main demand but it was impossible to satisfy everyone. He said core issues have been addressed. The Defence Minister said the commission formed to look into the objections raised by ex servicemen will look into the problems.
