Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today said, notification on One Rank One Pension Scheme, OROP, will be issued shortly. Talking to media on the sidelines of the Bi-annual Naval Commanders' Conference in New Delhi, Mr Parrikar said, once Election Commission's Model Code of Conduct for Bihar Polls gets over, the government will try to notify OROP before Diwali.<br/><br/>The government had announced the OROP scheme on 5th of last month for Ex-Servicemen. A one member Judicial committee was constituted to examine the issues involved in the scheme and give its report in six months. The benefit of the scheme will be given with effect from 1st July, 2014.
