Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has asked Ministry officials to provide him details about Subedar Ram Kishan Grewal who allegedly committed suicide in New Delhi today. <br/><br/>The deceased reportedly was to handover a petition to the Defence Minister over One Rank One Pension issue. Expressing sadness over the death, the Minister said the government is committed to welfare of ex-servicemen in the country. <br/><br/>In a tweet, Defence Minister said over five thousand five hundred crore rupees have been disbursed under the OROP to the ex-servicemen. He said, it benefited over 30 lakh defence pensioners so far. <br/><br/>The Minister said over one lakh 50 thousand cases are pending for verification and authentication of beneficiaries.
