The police has allowed the ex-servicemen to continue their protest at Jantar Mantar, who are demanding the implementation of One Rank One Pension scheme. Early in the morning, the Delhi police evicted various protesting groups from Jantar Mantar, including the ex-servicemen who have been sitting on a dharna. The police said the protesting groups were asked to move away from Jantar Mantar as the area had to be sanitised ahead of Independence Day.<br/><br/>Talking to AIR Retd. General, Satvir Singh said that it was unfortunate that police had forcibly tried to evicted the ex servicemen who are peacefully protesting at Jantar Mantar. He also said that they will continue their protest until their demands are met. <br/><br/>The retired armed personnel had yesterday outrightly rejected the latest proposal on One Rank One Pension offered by the union government. The ex-servicemen have maintained that they do not want any change and do not want the OROP to be diluted. <br/><br/>The veterans want OROP to be implemented in letter and spirit as approved by Parliament. Condemning the police action, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the ex-servicemen protected us till yesterday and wondered how they have become a security threat on Independence Day.
