Orissa govt. will get back at Maoists: Patnaik

In Orissa, Chief Minister Mr. Naveen Patnaik has said his government will get back at the Maoists who killed nine Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel on the Koraput-Malkangiri border. The red ultras had triggered a powerful landmine yesterday that blew up a minibus carrying SOG personnel killing at least nine of them and seriously injuring eight. <br/><br/>Two SOG commandos are reportedly still missing. Describing the act as a cowardice one, Mr. Patnaik has announced Rs 8 lakh each as compensation and Rs 10 lakh as insurance benefits for the families of the slain commandos. Besides, one member of each family will get a government job. The salaries will also be paid as usual every month to the families till the period of retirement of the slain SOGs.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, combing operations have been launched in the region with senior officials rushing to the spot to monitor and guide the counter-offensive.
