Orissa Government has chalked out a reconstruction plan for the flood affected areas of the State. Following advise of the Central team that visited the flood ravaged areas, Government has prepared an action plan to be executed within 45 days. Special Relief Commissioner Mohapatra said an amount of 1238 Crore rupees has been estimated to be spent on this plan. It includes constructions of concrete roads in 3000 odd villages that were marooned during the recent flood. It also has a plan to construct houses for those who have lost it to the flood. The tender process have already begun. Chief Minister Naveen Pattanaik is monitoring the progress on a daily basis. A three level supervising committee has been set up to monitor the quality of the work as well as maintain transparency.
