Eminent writer and station director of All India Radio, Berhampur, Orissa, Dr. Hrushikesh Panda has been declared the winner of firstInternational Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) award for 2010. He has been declared winner of the award in youth and children category.He will receive a citation, 1,000 dollars and a trophy from ABU for an Oriya programme 'Aa mo sakala aa' (come my morning) conceived, authored and programmed by Dr Panda for AIR.His name was declared the winner at the 47th international Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union general body council meeting by chairman Mr. EC Noori Emai held recently at Tokyo, Japan. The programme created awareness among the children and youth on HIV and AIDS. More than 70,000 children are born every year with HIV positive in the third world countries.
