An ordinance is likely to promulgated in Andhra Pradesh soon to end harassment of Micro Finance Institutions in collecting loan dues. This follows reports of suicides committed because of the harassment for repayment of loans.State Rural Development Minister Vasanth Kumar says, 25 persons, most of them belong to Self Help Groups have committed suicides in the past two months. He said several measures are being taken to end the suicides.State Cabinet is meeting tomorrow to discuss the matter while Chief Minister K Rosaiah has convened an emergency meeting with bankers this evening to discuss the issue.
