Opposition to continue protest in Parliament over demonetisation issue

Several opposition parties have decided to take on the government both inside and outside Parliament on demonetization issue. Earlier this morning, before the House assembled, the leaders of Congress, TMC, JD(U), BSP, CPI(M), CPI, NCP, RJD, JMM and DMK held a meeting at Parliament House to forge a common plan of action to corner the government. During the meeting, they decided to continue to press for an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha and a debate under a rule which entails voting. <br/><br/>The MPs of these parties will stage a dharna in Parliament premises on Wednesday over the matter. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is also scheduled to visit New Delhi tomorrow to join the protest. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Ghulam Nabi Azad, JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav, Sudip Bandyopadhyay of TMC, Mohammad Salim of CPI(M) were among those who attended the meeting.
