Opposition to boycott Rajya Sabha till suspension of 8 members revoked: Ghulam Nabi Azad

Congress led opposition in Rajya Sabha will boycott the proceedings of the Upper House until suspension of eight MPs is revoked and other demands related to the farmers are fulfilled. <br />'' <br />''In Rajya Sabha, Leader of Opposition, Ghulam Nabi Azad made this announcement this morning while narrating the incident that happened on Sunday during the passage of the two farm Bills. <br />''<br />''He said the entire controversy had happened due to constraint of time allotted for discussion on the Bills. He alleged that there was lack of coordination from the government side. He urged the Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu to revoke the suspension of eight MPs. <br />''<br />''Mr. Azad also demanded the government to bring a Bill to ensure that private players do not procure food grain below the MSP. After his remarks, members from Congress, Left, TMC, AAP and others walked out from the House.<br />'' <br />''Samajwadi party leader Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav said no one can justify the ruckus incident. He urged the Chairman to revoke the suspension of MPs. K. Keshav Rao of TRS also made similar demand. <br />''<br />''Tiruchi Siva of DMK said the Bills were passed in the unprecedented manner and divisions were not allowed. Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda said, there should be coordination between government and opposition to break the stalemate. <br />''<br />''Praful Patel of NCP also demanded revocation of  suspened MPs. Later, the members from Samajwadi Party, DMK, TRS and NCP also staged a walk out.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu said, action has been taken for the conduct of the members and he has nothing personal against them. He said, this is not the first time when the members have been suspended. <br />''<br />''Mr. Naidu said, 13 times Deputy Chairman Harivansh had asked the members to go to their seat and order in the House so that division can take place but they did not pay heed and continued their unruly acts. <br />''<br />''He said, Deputy Chairman handled the situation in an appropriate way. He also said that he has asked the Rajya Sabha Secretary General to ensure the proper care of the protesting members. He urged the opposition leaders to rethink, introspect and return to the House to take part in the discussion.</span><br />
