Both houses of Parliament have been adjourned till Monday following pandemonium over the opposition demand for Joint Parliamentary Committee, JPC, into alleged 2G Spectrum and other scams. Except for the opening day of the Winter Session, hardly any business could be transacted in the first two weeks because of uproarious scenes and repeated adjournments. Today was the 6th working day in a row that two houses were first adjourned with no break through in sight to end the stalemate over the opposition demand. The government has already said that while it is ready for discussion on the issue, it has rejected the demand for JPC probe. An all party meeting on Tuesday last convened by the government failed to break the logjam. Today, the two Houses were adjourned first till noon and then for the day after laying of papers. In the Lok Sabha, in the midst of sloganeering in the well of the House, the Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee introduced a Bill to amend the State Bank of India (Subsidiary Banks )Act of 1959.
