Opposition stages walk out in LS on issue of sacking of Sadhvi Jyoti

Opposition parties in the Lok Sabha today staged a walk out on the issue of sacking of Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti for her derogatory remarks. Members from congress, Samajwadi party and TMC demanded a statement from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue . As the zero hour started, Opposition members demanded a statement of the Prime Minister. On their demand Speaker Sumitra Mahajan while giving her ruling said that the notice which was given by the Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge was on the recent increase in Central Excise duty on petrol and diesel and therefore it is not possible to do unlisted business. She said the Minister Niranjan Jyoti had already tendered her apology for her remarks and the matter was closed on very first day.
