The Opposition today lashed at Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat for justifying re-conversions and describing India as a Hindu Rashtra.

Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said, in view of conversion issue, remarks made by Mr Bhagwat are serious and condemnable.
BSP Chief Ms Mayawati said, if Mr Bhagwat were aware of country’s Constitution then he would not have made such a statement.

She said his remarks are against the dignity of the Constitution. JD(U) president Sharad Yadav said this is not a new practice for RSS and its chief. CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury said there is no need for any anti-conversion law as the Constitution gives protection against forced conversion.
