Opposition has mounted pressure on the Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar to resign over the Pune IPL bid row. The BJP, CPIM and Shiv Sena have sought a joint parliamentary probe into the issue. BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad while talking to reporters urged the Prime Minister to drop the minister from the cabinet if he does not resign. Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray also made a similar demand. Raising the pitch in Delhi, CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury said a joint parliamentary probe should be launched to investigate all the ramifications of the IPL. CPI has also made a similar demand. Congress maintained that Pawar will have to fend for himself. Party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said that Congress stand is the same and a general inquiry into the matter is already on. Pune City Corporation Managing Director Aniruddh Deshpande has refuted allegations that he kept the IPL in the dark about his individual bid for the franchise .He conceded that the company's name was used in his bid documents. The Agriculture minister and his daughter have strongly denied the allegations leveled against the NCP chief.<br/>
