Opposition politicizing Agriculture Reforms Bills: Devendra Fadnavis

<span style="color: #222222;">The Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Assembly Mr. Devendra Fadnavis today said that the Agriculture Reforms Bills passed by the Parliament are in the interest of the farmers and the Opposition is politicizing it and spreading misinformation among the farmers.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">With the passage of the bill, farmers will have control over agricultural commodities and its prices and there will be no need for intermediaries between farmers and markets. He was addressing a press conference in Nagpur today.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Devendra Fadhavis stated that, through contract farming, the value chain will be linked to the agricultural produce of the farmers so that the big agricultural companies can buy the farm produce of  small and marginal farmers.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He pointed out that in the Agricultural Produce Market Committee, (APMC) farmers have to pay surcharge of 2 to 8 per cent on its own produce.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said ,with the passage of bills, there will be  freedom for farmers  to sell farm produce in inter-state markets and anywhere in the country  which will help in creating One Nation – One Market. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Fadnavis informed that it was the Congress Party who in its 2019 election manifesto included amendments to the Agricultural Produce Market Committee Act, contract farming and now the same party is opposing the bill.</span><br />
