Opposition <b>parties  met the </b>Election Commission on Monday evening and demanded ensuring of transparency in the EVMs in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. <br />''<br />''Ghulam Nabi Azad of Congress, Chandra Babu Naidu of TDP, Ram Gopal Yadav of SP, Satish Chandra Mishra of BSP,Omar Abdullah of National Conference, D Raja of CPI, Darek O' Brian of TMC and Majid Menon of NCP among those met the Commission over the issue.<br />''<br />'' Later talking to reporters after the meeting,  Ghulam Nabi Azad said, the opposition leaders demanded the Commission to  ensure that 50 per cent of EVM results are matched and cross-checked with voter verifiable paper audit trails (VVPATs) in the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls. Earlier  leaders of various opposition parties met in Parliament Hosue and discussed their strategy on the issue.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Later the Election Commission in a statement said the poll panel heard the demands of  political parties and assured them that their concerns would be deliberated and examined. The Commission said, it will also keep in view the pronouncements of different Courts and  report of the Indian Statistical Institute including overall administrative and operational feasibility on the ground, before firming up any response.</span><br />
