Five opposition parties including Congress and Left today approached President Pranab Mukherjee seeking his intervention to resolve the current crisis in JNU. <br/><br/>Some students are on hunger strike over University's action against the students allegedly involved in 9th February event in the campus where anti- national slogans were reportedly raised. A delegation of these parties submitted a memorandum to Mr. Mukherjee saying the current crisis over the disciplinary action threatens to worsen the situation in the University. <br/><br/>They urged the President that as the visitor of the University he to ensure that justice is done and the punishments against the students are withdrawn. They also said the punitive action is based on disputed evidence. The leaders of Congress, Left, JD(U), NCP and BJD were part of the delegation. <br/><br/>Earlier, in the day the issue was also raised in the Rajya Sabha during Zero Hour by the Left and JD(U) members.
