In Uttar Pradesh all major opposition parties have demanded a CBI probe into the mysterious death of a jailed deputy Chief Medical Officer in Lucknow jail. Parties have alleged that the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party was shielding the guilty as its leaders were involved in the case.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that Dr. Sachan was found dead under mysterious circumstances last night inside Lucknow district jail. Jail administration has suspended five jail personnel including jailer, deputy jailers, two security guards and one jail warden for their alleged dereliction in duties. Meanwhile a team of five doctors have conducted autopsy of dead body of Doctor. Details of post mortem report is not yet disclosed. Government has announced judicial enquiry into the incident by a judicial magistrate. Police has claimed that Dr. Sachan has committed suicide. He was found hanging in the unused toilet at the first floor of jail hospital building. Meanwhile, the cabinet secretary of the state Shashank Shekhar Singh has reiterated that prime facie death of Dr. Sachan death is a case of suicide. Talking to media persons at Lucknow he denied CBI enquiry in the mysterious death of Dr. Sachan. He claimed that government has maintained full transparency in all formalitiesincluding postmortem of dead body of Dr. Sachan. He accepted thatcause of death is massive bleeding. He said as per postmortem report nine wounds have been found on the dead body.He also rejected the second autopsy by a group of doctors from AIIMS New Delhi. The main opposition Samajwadi Party has alleged that Dr. Sachan was murdered to save former ministers of the ruling BSP. The BJP has said that the State government was out to shield the corrupt by proving Sachan’s death as a suicide case. The State Congress has announced to stage demonstrations across the State on June 25 to press for a CBI inquiry into the incident. The brother and wife of Dr. Sachan have also demanded a CBI probe into his death.
