In Karnataka, the all party meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today discussed matters related to release of Cauvery river water to Tamilnadu and formation of Cauvery Management Board as directed by the Supreme Court. <br/><br/>After the meeting, leader of Opposition in legislative Assembly Jagadish Shetter said, the Government has been advised to abide by the resolution taken unanimously in the legislature to reserve Cauvery water only for meeting the drinking water needs of the state. He said, Supreme Court order to release water is not implementable. <br/><br/>JD(S) floor leader H D Kumaraswamy also said, they have suggested to the Government that Karnataka should not send any names for the membership in Cauvery Management Board. Another leader from JD(S) and MLA, Y S V Datta said, they are prepared to face any consequence including contempt or dismissal when the case comes up for hearing in the Apex Court on Thursday. <br/><br/>The Home Minister Dr.G Parameshwar said, all the suggestions made by the Opposition leaders will be discussed in the Cabinet meeting which is underway. <br/>Meanwhile former Prime Minister Deve Gowda has ended his hunger strike in Bengaluru. He was demanding intervention of Prime Minister to end the impasse between the two states for Cauvery water.
