Uttar Pradesh government came under sharp criticism from opposition parties over murder of wife of senior BJP leader and deputy leader of the party in state assembly Hukkum Singh in Muzaffarnagar. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports the opposition parties including main opposition Samajwadi Party, Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress slammed the Mayawati government saying that the incident symbolised the collapse of law and order in the state. Expressing their grief over killing of wife of BJP leader SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, Leader of the Opposition in the assembly Shivpal Singh Yadav and the party's state unit president Akhilesh Yadav said that this murder is an indicator of poor law and order situation in the state. In a statement issued at Lucknow they said no person is safe in BSP regime.BJP state president Surya Pratap Shahi said in a statement the insensitiveness shown by the state government towards such incidents is condemnable.Expressing grief over the murder of Singh's wife UPCC president Rita Bahuguna Joshi also alleged that the law and order situation in the state has collapsed and public representatives were being attacked.The wife of a senior BJP leader Revti Singh was found murdered at her Gandhi colony locality residence. She was 75.
