Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till noon amid Opposition uproar over demand for privilege motion against some media houses for publishing expunged remarks of SP MP.<br/><br/>Opposition members in the Rajya Sabha today alleged that BJP activists are threatening some of them for their remarks made during the Short Duration Discussion on mob lynching. Raising the issue, Naresh Agarwal of Samajwadi Party said, some of the youth wing activists of the BJP had vandalised his residences in Delhi and Hardoi yesterday.<br/><br/>He said some sections of the print and electronic media have carried the remarks, which were expunged from the records. He alleged that the media has violated the directives of the Chair and they wanted to move a privilege motion. Responding to this Deputy Chairman P J Kurien said, the remarks once expunged should not be carried. If it is true, it is a serious matter and the government should enquire and take action.<br/><br/>Quoting Rules Book, several members insisted on moving a privilege motion against the media. However, Prof. Kurien maintained that there should be a notice before taking up the matter. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi observed that such notices should go to Privileges Committee first. Later, some of the opposition members trooped into the well raising slogans forcing the adjournment of the House for 15 minutes till Noon.
