In the Lok Sabha, Opposition members from Congress, Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janta Dal and Aam Admi Party today staged walk out after question hour demanding immediate discussion on black money issue. Earlier, as soon as the House met for the day Speaker Sumitra Mahajan rejected the adjournment motion and suspension of question hour moved by several Opposition members including Mallikarjun Kharge of Congress. Mr. Kharge had moved the motion seeking discussion on black money issue for violation of promises made by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on different occasions and before elections.
TMC member Sudeep Bandopadhyay raised objections over allotting the time for discussion at the fag end of the day. Intervening at a point of time, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu reiterated that government is ready to discuss the issue at any time fixed by the Chair. He said there is noting to hide by the government and nothing illegal has happened during NDA regime. The Speaker quoting rules rejected the Motion and said she will allow discussion on the issue at an appropriate time.
